    Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 Review

I recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 to replace the aging HP that I have been using to test and work on Windows 10. Microsoft has been pushing the Microsoft Surface brand for many years now and has become one of the top five computer manufacturers in the world by selling only premium Microsoft Surface laptops and tablets to consumers. I really like the Surface Laptop 2 as it’s a big improvement over my Surface Pro 3 and my HP laptop for one the screen is better with the 2256 x 1504 (201ppi) this is a huge jump for me over my HP. I find the display very sharp and the fact that its touchscreen does make me favor it over my MacBook Pro for reading. I got the Intel i7 which is a great processor and I am guessing that Microsoft will release the Surface Laptop 3 or make an upgrade to the Surface Laptop 2 to allow the Intel i9 as Apple did recently. I was surprised as well that I cannot add more than 16 gigs of ram to this computer there is no option on the Microsoft Site I am again guessing that may be an option for the next model. I did get a 512 Solid State Drive to make sure I had enough storage I thought the 1 TB might be overkill and decided to save a little money considering the 1 TB drive added another $500 dollars to the already $2,000 purchase. I did order my Surface Laptop 2 with Window 10 Pro you can order it with Windows 10 Home and save a few dollars on the cost I would rather pro personally. I like how the front-facing camera is 720p Windows Hello facial authentication since I plan on using Windows...
  • Microsoft has been pushing their new Edge browser which is based on the open-source Chromium browser standard. The truth is Microsoft needs to standardize Edge on the Chromium standard since their current edge browser has little to no mark share. Microsoft made a big mistake tying Edge to the operating system in the first place a few years ago when Windows 10 was released. Windows 10 gets updated with features twice a year where Chrome gets updated every six weeks which right from the start put Edge at a disadvantage. Then the lack of browser extension support for Edge I think was the final end for Microsoft and the reason the shift to Chromium happened. If Microsoft would have made Edge available on every platform like they did with Internet Explorer and now Edge built on Chromium they would have not fallen to a four percent market share in the browser market. Microsoft needs Edge to be Chromium based because they need a browser that has a rich browser extension store to offer users of Edge. Using Chromium as the browser base allows Microsoft to port their apps over and allows users to install extensions from other stores like the Google Play Store. Using Chromium allows Microsoft to break the browser off from Windows 10 and develop for other platforms like Windows 7, Windows 8 and MacOS. Since Chromium looks like Chrome it allows Microsoft to possibly make users stay with Edge and not download Chrome. Going with the Chromium standard allows Microsoft the ability to update Edge every six weeks like Chrome rather than twice a year with the cumulative update packages. Going with an open standard like Chromium helps Microsoft by making it easier for developers to make extensions. Before making extensions for Edge was complex and developers...
  • Social media has become the go-to port of call these days for many people who are looking to make a name for themselves. This is made possible by the fact that the different social networks have a massive potential audience. With these people all signed up and eager to engage with the large volume of content that is produced on a regular basis, it is only normal that there are plenty of people interested in making the most of them to draw attention to their projects, whatever they may be. Social networks like Instagram have more than a billion active users and five hundred million of them use it on a daily basis. There is also a considerable percentage of this figure that logs in to it several times over the course of the day. Users also come together from all over the world, meaning that those who want to promote themselves through it can go onto to become influential on a global scale. That’s where a lot of the interest in Instagram comes from. As a result of this interest, it is something of a common occurrence these days to see online ads which sell features on social media networks. These features can be incredibly useful if you are looking to establish a social media account for yourself. To get the desired presence for your profile, you will need the support of other social media users, whether it be through liking your uploads, viewing your content, commenting on your posts or being your follower. All of these different forms of interaction play a key part in building your popularity on social media and being able to gain more exposure and, therefore, more attention. This is why you will see ads telling you to buy Instagram likes or to get...

Moving From iPhone 8 to the iPhone XS

I decided to make the jump from my iPhone 8 plus to the iPhone XS. I have had almost every iPhone S series since the iPhone 4 S. I am not one to grab the first generation of any device, that’s why I have always waited for the S year of an iPhone release. Since I have started with the iPhone, I have been loyal to Apple because the phone is reliable and has great support. Screen Size And Price Are Always An Issue I went with the iPhone XS, not the XS max because it came down to the price I had an iPhone 8 plus and the iPhone XS is the same screen size.  The iPhone XS max gives you the extra on the top and bottom of the screen when the button and camera used to be on the plus models. In this case, spending 1,000 dollars on a 64 meg phone is enough for me to spend plus trade in of my old iPhone 8 plus which was in perfect condition just made the price point right for me and my budget. I know the iPhone XS max is only a hundred dollars more than the iPhone XS but I usually upgrade after I get to the 50% to 75% pay off amount since I am on Verizon. The screen is big enough for me personally on the iPhone XS where at times the iPhone 8 plus got a little bit too big for me. Maybe down the road, I will get a bigger screen but right now iPhone XS is the perfect size for me. Display Quality And Cameras Sell Phones The first thing I noticed is the screen on the iPhone XS is way better than the iPhone 8 Plus. The super retina HD...
  • Living and working abroad enriches you as a personality and expert. You’ll have to get over lots of difficulties, so it gives you the opportunity for growth. If you consider India as a future work location, you are on the right way. Although you might face lots of difficulties there, it is a worthy experience, which will change your life for the better. Before you take a final decision, let’s analyze some important issues. What are the pros and cons of working in India India is a rapidly developing country with enormous potential, though it hasn’t gained its economic prosperity and stability yet. And there are, like in almost every country in the world, some advantages and disadvantages of working there. Let’s get to know pluses first. The economy is on its rise, international trade and investments are encouraged by Indian authorities. This way international companies are appearing in the country and they need highly skilled professionals. Though native graduates from universities are qualified enough, it becomes a kind of trend to recruit international employees to multinational enterprises. In addition, English is a secondary language. Business communication is mainly conducted in English. So if you are fluent, you’ll feel comfortable in India. Indians are rather welcoming to foreigners. The tax system is quite liberal in India. The government created strategies for international employees so that they can avoid double taxation. Among minuses we can name the following: social security is rather weak. Citizens mainly rely on themselves and their families in case of illness or other setbacks. Actually, two social security plans exist in India. They are the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). However, they are not efficient. Indian system of healthcare is a big problem too. The government doesn’t provide its citizens with the necessary medical help....
  • Technology is continually evolving, and printers and printing mechanisms are no different. There are tons of different types of printers, but there are two types that remain constantly debated: inkjet printers and laser printers. These two printer types are manufactured by nearly every printer company there is, from HP to Canon and everything beyond. They are dependable, easy to use, and affordable to manufacture and purchase. But, between these two, which printing style is better? How do you decide between an inkjet and a laser printer? Let’s break down pros and cons of both for mass production at your business. The Inkjet Printer: Pros and Cons The inkjet printer is one of the earliest printer types, spanning all the way back to the 1950s. Much like the name suggests, it recreates images by propelling ink droplets onto paper or other substances. Inkjet printers truly found their form in the 1970s when major printer companies like Epson, HP, and Canon took up their printing style and began mass-producing them. Since their development, they have quickly become the most widely purchased type of printer for home usage, as well for big businesses. Part of this success is because during the inkjet printer’s boom, ink cartridges were relatively easy to find. They might not seem cost effective, but ink cartridges last quite a long time. Ink cartridges are as still as widely produced as these printers, and still quite easy to find. If you’re a big business in Australia, you can easily find ink cartridges Perth or Sydney has to offer in local warehouses. Ink manufacturers are still around the entire country. No matter where you live cartridges are relatively simple to replace, and can be bought in mass quantities in-stores and online retailers. Inkjet Pros: Easy to find Reliable Affordable Can last...

  • Two things that many readers have asked me over the year is Will Apple ever make a touch screen MacBook? and Will Apple ever bring its App Store to the Mac? MacBook Touch Screen I think this will happen as the features between iPad and MacBook start to resemble each other more over time I think it’s inevitable. Apples WWDC is coming up and usually every year they have a large number of features and improvements for the iPad that make it more of a multipurpose device rather than just a tablet. I think Apple to keep up with the changing landscape of computer hardware will need to add a touchscreen to their entire laptop line of products, many computer manufacturers like Lenovo, Microsoft and HP are already offering touchscreen laptops. I think it’s just a matter of time for Apple to jump on board with a touchscreen on their computer but I do think we may get a touchscreen first on an iMac before a MacBook just so Apple can compete with Microsofts Surface Studio which has a large touchscreen display for artists. App Store on MacOS While Apple has started adding phone apps to MacOS they are only doing it with their own apps at this point. Apple has ported over Apple News, Stocks, Home, and Voice Memos to MacOS and soon we will have Apple Music, Apple TV, Podcasts, and Books on the Mac. Moving over Apples entire App Store over to MacOS I think will happen but it will take time as Apple wants to make sure it’s done right. Apple will need to let app developers know about this moving forward to give developers time to make proper changes to their apps in advance. This kind of announcement I would expect at WWDC this year...
  • When Apple had their big press event back in March they showed us what the new Apple TV experience was going to look like when it was released and it’s officially here with the release of tvOS 12.3. This is the first step in the launch of Apples streaming service Apple TV+ service which is set to launch in the fall. Apple hasn’t yet announced pricing on the Apple TV+ service yet but I am sure will over the summer or at the launch. The new TV app is the first step, and it appears to look like the version Apple showed off in March. The new tvOS app is available in over 100 countries. The new TV app is also now available on select Samsung smart TVs and on iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. Apple has said the Apple TV experience will be available on MacOS coming this fall with the launch of Apple TV+. Apple did mention customers with AirPlay 2-enabled Samsung smart TVs can now play videos and other content from their iPhone, iPad or Mac directly to their smart TVs. Added customers with eligible VIZIO, LG and Sony smart TVs will be able to enjoy AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support later this year. Apple wrote in its press release “With the free iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 software update, customers around the world can now subscribe to Apple TV channels within the Apple TV app — paying for only the ones they want — and watch on demand directly in the app. In the US, Apple TV channels include popular services such as HBO, Starz, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, EPIX, Tastemade and new services like MTV Hits, with more to be added over time around the world.” Apple also revealed that the new Apple TV...
