Microsoft Announced Lay Offs

Microsoft announced today that they are laying off workers. I hate to see people lose their jobs but it looks to be jobs outside the US and looks to be just salesforce works, not developers. I with everyone losing their job the best in finding a new job.

EU fines Google 2.42 billion

Google fined a record 2.4 billion by the EU for manipulating search results. The EU claims Google demoted rivals and unfairly promoted its own services in Europe. The primary target of the case is Google Shopping, a price-comparison feature built into the company’s search engine.

Blue Apron Stock Not Doing Well

Blue Apron is getting crushed just a week after its IPO. The company announced its IPO right before Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods, this lead to Blue Apron lowering its IPO price from $15 to between $10 and $11. Blue Apron stocks is down 6.45% yesterday and 18.1% in the week following its initial public offering.

OneDrive Has Stopped Working on Non-NTFS Drives

OneDrive users around the world have been upset to discover that with its latest update, Microsoft’s cloud file syncing and storage system no longer works with anything other than disks formatted with the NTFS file system. Both older file systems, such as FAT32 and exFAT, and newer ones, such as ReFS, will now provoke an error message when OneDrive starts up.

OpenBSD Will Get Unique Kernels on Each Reboot

A new feature added in test snapshots for the upcoming OpenBSD 6.2 release will create a unique kernel every time an OpenBSD user reboots or upgrades his computer. This feature is named KARL — Kernel Address Randomized Link — and works by relinking internal kernel files in a random order so that it generates a unique kernel binary blob every time. Currently, for stable releases.

Netflix GLOW Series Hit with Positive Review

Glow is the new hit Netflix series based on the positive reviews from both wrestling and non-wrestling fans. The show has the potential for a season 2 from the positive feedback and ratings from season one.
