Xbox One S Time To Play The Game

For the Christmas Holiday I received an Xbox One S with a game or two or three. So I guess this officially makes me a gamer right? To say the least I am far from a good gamer and end up getting my butt kicked by mostly anyone or anything I play online but what game or games am I playing you ask. Fortnight While I am not a huge fan of single person shooters the game is free to download and I wanted to see what all the fuss is about. While I have played Fortnight on both my iPad and MacBook I find it easier to play on the controller. This game is a blast and I can see how this game can be addicting while I have not spent any money on in game purchases I know I am by far not the norm as the game has broken records. Overwatch This is an example of the power of a name. While I have always been a huge fan of blizzard games dating back to Starcraft and Diablo. I picked this game up because it said blizzard on the cover when I was walking through Game Stop. While I am again not a fan of first person shooters this game turned out to be a lot of fun. Injustice 2 Being a huge DC comics fan this game was a must by I am also a huge fan of one on one beatem up games especially when it has great graphics and has some of my favorite characters of all time that I grew up with over the years reading comics about. This has been my go to game since I got the XBox on Christmas. Hale 5 While I understand Halo is not the huge draw...

    Microsoft Edge as an E-reader

I was thinking about Microsoft Edge, the eBook business, and the E-reader. I started thinking about Microsoft and the way they handle their consumer services. To start Microsoft has completely gotten out of the consumer music and health business but has stayed in the eBook selling business despite strong competition from E-readers like Kindle, iBooks and Nook. When you get down to it Microsoft runs maybe a slow forth compared to the three services, I just mentioned but unlike music, Microsoft is still staying in the consumer books business. They are banking big on the book business considering they spend money on development to add E-reader features to Edge back in 2017 then released Edge for iOS and Android earlier this year after saying for years that Edge would only be available on Windows 10. Edge for Windows 10, iOS and Android added Cortana reading feature similar to audiobooks recently as a feature update. Microsoft would not be putting all this development into Edge’s E-reader feature if there was no profitability in the software or app. This makes me think as to why has Microsoft has not gotten out of the consumer bookmarket. Remember Windows 10 runs on Surfaces and tablets so my questions are How many books could Microsoft be selling? Why are they building Edges ePub reading features so much? Why are they still in the consumer book market when they have been getting out of most consumer services? To me, there are a lot of unknowns and I wonder if this might actually be a consumer market where Microsoft is making money or hopes to make money or even can make money. I would like to point out that Microsoft is still in the business of renting and selling movies as well. Now with Microsoft possibly moving...
  • If you are using Windows 10 with and your Chrome or Firefox is stuck at “Establishing Secure Connection” you are probably a victim of this update issue. Microsoft Edge has no issue just third party browsers have the issue. The problem started with the April 2018 Win10 1803 Feature Update and can also happen with fresh Windows installs that use 1803. The 1803 update can cause a core Windows identity service (CryptSvc) to loop endlessly and stall connections. The 1803 update had two Chrome issues that left Chrome stalled a CryptSvc problem and a Graphics GPU problem. The GPU problem was resolved by the May 1803 Update, build 17134.48!topic/chrome/bzZPHqKXODw The CryptSvc can be fixed (temporarily) by restarting the CryptSvc service from task manager. You can permanently fix the issue by deleting a registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\Root\ProtectedRoots in regedit and delete the Root folder. Make sure you take ownership of it before you delete it. Also disable inheritance. After you delete the root folder CryptSvc no longer stalls and Chrome and Firefox run fine.
  • From how those Wall Street biggies will look like at the time of retirement to what should be the ideal way to spend Thanksgiving this year for you, technology has pervaded every sphere of our lives. Bringing tech solutions and innovations together, Microsoft has long been that dominant force which drives technology around the world. Right from Volkswagen to MasterCard, Microsoft has been the go-to guy for all industry giants, taking up challenging tech assignments for all who wanted fast and foolproof solutions for coping up with the huge tech revolution in the last few decades. Coming to this quarter, Microsoft has brought forth the financial reports, along with forecasts about the upcoming days in the cloud computing industries. This post goes on to explore some of the key areas mentioned in Q119, and talk about the insights on cloud computing. Q119 – the major revelations Experts are of the opinion that the Q119 is quite similar to that of Q418, and that little has changed apart from stating the revenue increase in this quarter. However, Q119 actually takes on Nadella’s message in July of this year, and goes on to show that the CEO was not far from the truth when he revealed the future of cloud computing emphasising on ethos ad cooperation among the key players. Here are the major stats from Microsoft’s Q119 for the readers, and for those looking to make it big in the field. Overall revenue for Microsoft in this quarter: $29.1 billion Overall revenue has gone down by 3% from previous quarter However, it is a 19% increase from this quarter in 2017, hence when you compare the stats annually, the numbers don’t look all that bad Microsoft has also reported a 76% increase in revenue growth for the company in the latest...
  • Microsoft released their earnings report this week and have reported $29.1 billion in revenue with huge growth in places like Office 365, cloud and gaming. While we saw a little percentage drop in Azure revenue which is to be expected as those numbers hire the percentage will start to decrease a bit that’s very normal but for me, the news of the earnings report was Office 365. Office 365 is reporting a growth of over three million users per month. To break it down further Microsoft Office 365 commercial revenue grew 36% and passed the 155 million monthly active users mark. On the consumer side, Microsoft is reporting 32.5 million active subscriptions. That is 187.5 million subscribers at a growth rate of about 3 million users a month it’s very possible Microsoft will have anywhere between 195 million and 200 million monthly active Office 365 subscribers between consumer and commercial subscriptions. I would like to point out the 35% growth in Office 365 revenues and the Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 51% since these are add-on services to commercial users this shows that Microsoft is successful in extracting more revenue per month from its users once they get you to subscribe not only are they getting a subscription every month they are selling you additional 365 services. Some other key points from the earnings report I found interesting LinkedIn grew 34% with record levels of engagement and job postings Xbox hardware revenue grew 94% Surface had another billion dollar quarter Search advertising revenue grew 17% Overall another great quarter for Microsoft.

  • Microsoft announced a new Windows 10 Insider Build number 18267 with some new features. To start a new Vietnamese Telex and Number keyboards are now available and according to Microsoft, this is one of the top feature requests in the input space. Microsoft has added more symbols to the touch keyboard along with many accessibility improvements. Narrator works better with Chrome now Narrator Braille UI Automation framework IAccessible2 Support I think the big news from this build is the new Windows search mode called Enhanced Search. The new feature allows you to search all of your folders and files from Windows Search. This makes me wonder if this is part of the start of the improved search Microsoft talked about at Ignite this year. Microsoft added a general list of improvements and fixes as always We fixed an issue resulting in Settings crashing when invoking actions on certain places, including under Windows Security. We fixed an issue resulting in some Insider experiencing green screens with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in the previous flight. We fixed an issue where the Action Center might suddenly appear on the opposite side of the screen before appearing on the correct side. We fixed an issue resulting in the Action Center icon sometimes showing a number of unread notifications, however when you opened Action Center it would be blank. We fixed an issue resulting in Settings crashes on launch for a small number of users. We fixed an issue resulting in recently opened items sometimes showing in jump lists even though “Show recently opened items in jump lists” was disabled in Settings.
