Microsoft is gearing up to help send the kids back to school by helping you pack the digital backpack full of great apps from the Microsoft Store. Microsoft every year offers back to school discounts on software and hardware this year I think tops last year’s deals on software.

Out of all the discounts offered the only one that caught my eye was Adobe Photoshop Elements at 40% Off. Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 is a $100-dollar purchase at $59.99 you are saving about $40 dollars. Enough savings to buy Microsoft Groove for 4 months at the $9.99 price point (I roll my eyes as I say that). Considering I just looked at Groove Music Pass and it’s missing a lot of big name artists recently but that’s another post for another day.

Movie Edit Pro Windows Store Edition is 50% off at price point of $29.99 saving you $30.00 but judging from the 1-star reviews I would not waste your money. If you need a good Movie editing software Blender for free and works great.

The three apps I do think are worth the money besides Photoshop are:

  • Human Japanese– 50% off – $9.49 save $9.50
  • Earth 3D – 67% Off – $0.99 save $2.00
  • Complete Anatomy free

Human Japanese is a great tool for anyone wanting to learn Japanese and is highly rated. Complete Anatomy and Earth 3D are highly rated and I know a few people who use them for education.

Along with discounts on software announced by Microsoft they announced the return of STEM Saturdays coming in September to all Microsoft Stores.

If you need Photoshop now might be the time to buy the software usually Photoshop never goes below a 40% off mark.
