What is Delicious?
Delicious is Yahoo’s social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks. Delicious claims to have more than 5.3 million users and 180 million unique bookmarked URLs.
Delicious works by using a non-hierarchical classification system in which users can tag each of their bookmarks with freely chosen index terms. A combined view of everyone’s bookmarks with a given tag is available. By design this makes it possible to view bookmarks created and saved by other users. Basically a user can use it to tag pages he or she finds interesting. It’s also a great place to find popular articles and web pages for the day.
Adding people to your network on Delicious allows them to see your bookmarks there for allowing you to gain traffic. Another method is to simply start offering a Delicious bookmark button on your webpages, your blog and your articles to allow visitors to easily tag.
