  • Today, Spotify reveals its annual Year in Music lists, showing the top artists, albums, tracks and moments that made 2017 such an amazing year for music fans. Spotify can reveal that Ed Sheeran is the most streamed artist of 2017 globally, and remains the #1 most streamed artist on Spotify with 47 million monthly listeners. Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) was the most streamed album of the year worldwide with 3.1 billion streams, and ‘Shape of You’ became the most streamed track of all time on Spotify, now with over 1.4 billion streams. Spotify I have never listened to him but I know he is popular. Spotify is starting to get buzz around them like Apple used to have about iTunes music.
  • Six months after Apple chief executive Tim Cook said Amazon’s Prime Video service would be coming to Apple TV, the much anticipated on-demand video streaming service has arrived on tvOS. Similar to other versions of Amazon Prime Video, the Apple TV app allows Prime subscribers to sign into their accounts and watch Amazon Prime exclusive TV series, as well as browse a collection of movies. Slashdot It shows how much Apple users love them. Think of how far behind they are on this TV Box stuff but yet get a pass because users love their products and will wait.  
  • Google is pulling its popular YouTube video service from Amazon’s Fire TV and Echo Show devices in an escalating feud that has caught consumers in the crossfire. The decision to block YouTube is retaliation for Amazon’s refusal to sell some Google products that compete with Amazon gadgets. That includes Google’s Chromecast streaming device, an alternative to Fire TV, and an internet-connected speaker called Home, which is trying to catch up to Amazon’s market-leading Echo. Amazon’s high-end Echo Show has a screen that can display video. NYPost This feud is really hurting the consumer who likes Google apps.
