Netflix has raised the rates on two of their subscription plans, with the new rates going into effect for November.

The Standard two-screens streaming plan will now cost $10.99 a month (up from $9.99), while the Premium 4-screen plan (plus Ultra HD) will now cost $13.99 (up from $11.99). The bargain-basement $7.99/month plan that only allows streaming in standard def on one screen will seemingly be unaffected by these changes. These new rates will affect U.S. subscribers only.

That top rate of $13.99 is creeping ever closer to (though at the moment still cheaper than) the current $15 rate for HBO Now.

Decider

With all the money Netflix is spending on original content I am surprised this did not happen sooner.
