I’ve had my used HW-8 for 2 years now. I got it from a friend a number of years ago. I us the Heathkit HW-8 running at 2 watts. I am utterly amazed with my signal, stable with no drift. Of course the HW-8 is no best rig but it is a competent, fun QRP rig that will give years of trouble-free service. I know a lot of hams say HW stands for Hot Water but I have had very little issues with the right. The only issue I have had to deal with is since the right is only analog (digital was not even a though when this rig was made) is making sure I am operating with in my frequency privileges. Besides that a great rig.
